Receiving Procedures

Cartridge returns received by Akron Recycling Center are individually inspected and the shipment is verified according to the shipping information that you supplied. All returns go through a process of receiving, inspection, documentation and verification.

Receiving

  • Verify items count compared to the freight bill.
  • If damage results a discrepancy, a freight claim is filed with the appropriate freight carrier. If damage does not result in a discrepancy, the freight carrier should still be notified.

Inspection

  • Verify piece count compared to the Return Form.
  • Visually inspect each cartridge to determine if it is damaged, new, or previously remanufactured.

Documentation

  • Each cartridge is individually inspected and counted.
  • Each cartridge is inspected and recorded on the inspection report. This includes new, remanufactured and damaged cartridges.
  • Any cartridge not listed on the Return Form is recorded.
  • The total number of cartridges received in the shipment is recorded.

Verification

  • If the variance falls within the allowable range, the order is accepted and the cartridges are processed.
  • If the variance falls outside the allowable range, we verify the discrepancy.
  • Once the count has been verified, a Discrepancy Report is generated and the cartridges are processed.
  • The Discrepancy Report is faxed to the customer advising them that a discrepancy has occurred.
  • The fax is followed by a phone call to verify receipt of the fax and to answer any questions.
